The Magic of the Midlands

Showcasing resorts is such a joy. I really get to experience them at their best as everything is put on show to maximise the image capture and so I thrive on this trying to output the best possibly imagery – I look for different angles, lighting conditions and ‘wow’ elements that would bring out the magnificence of the resorts best features which sell it best. This was true with Woodridge Country Hotel, a spectacular midlands getaway with not much to do apart from soak in the rest and relaxing you deserve when you visit this place with such awesome views of the rolling hills that abound. The food is also prepared with passion and brilliance by head chef, Johan, so you’ve got to know you’re going to come home feeling completely satisfied.

Enjoy some of my favourite imagery from this recent showcase.

The Honeymoon Suite

View of the chalet rooms overlooking the natural springs in front of the rooms

The suite rooms on top of the hill with amazing valley views

A meal in the boma below the main hotel

This the boma fire place for casual sundowners before enjoying the meal in the surrounding benches

Now this is where I started to really paint with light ... there was no ambient light apart from that coming from the fire, so set the camera to a half minute exposure and walked around the scene and fired the flash into all the dark areas to 'create light'!! I was very excited by the result

The newly decorated White Mischief Restaurant for pizzas and pastas

Main course for dinner

What better way to relax after a long day shooting photographs but to unwind a jacuzzi of this beautiful setting!

The continental breakfast buffet plus a full English fry up to accompany the healthy option

Full relaxation rewarded in the Touch Spa - it's important and all part of it!
