There are times when I get commissioned to photograph a luxury home before the owners have taken occupation. This can work in favor of the image capture especially with respect to the architectural detail and structural elements as all you’re left to envisage is the spaces within and vertical and horizontal lines of the built environment.
This was very true for a marvelous home north of Durban, designed by Zervogiannis Associate Architects (031 207 7062). The sensationally expansive golf course and sea views are maximized from almost every aspect of the home but my favorite would be from the high volume glass sun room off to the side of the pool deck where I could imagine sipping on a glass of quality red wine while watching the moon rise over the Indian Ocean on a cool autumn evening.
Wow, what a very beautiful home, seems strange seeing it empty like that but you’ve captured some gorgeous lines on the architecture. ‘Simplicity’ is so very hard to do well and you’ve done another sterling job of it here; well done Grant.
