Both my wife and myself have said for many years now that we would like Nigel Tarboton of Metropole Architects to design our dream home one day (check out their website for more) – this home by Metropole Architects, great senior architects Tyrone Reardon and Nigel, reminds us of this once again. Just magical with so many beautiful elements all making up an open plan, flowing home that includes some wonderful quality finishes.
I so enjoy it when homes become available to showcase for Metropole Architects because, if the home is in reasonable proximity to Durban, Nigel likes to come along and work with me providing guidance and architectural insight. Normally this would bug me when the client wishes to come along and tell me how to take the photos or what to shoot but with Nigel it’s different. We have fun together and I value his input as an amazing architect and, because of that insight, he may well point out a unique angle that I may not have already seen (as in the stairs pic – second down from here – look at the flow of the stairs and symmetry of the lights, which the home owner calls her moonlights!). I don’t have any architectural training but I see the symmetry of lines and the flow and the eb of design and I love being able to bring this through in the beautiful buildings that I photograph. The Metropole homes are always a joy to photograph, especially since they put such simplistic detail into their designs, which the camera picks up, as well as the positioning and placement of lighting and key windows to make the home look oh so special in the evening. Enjoy some of the pics below showcasing this magical Metropole design.
This is definitely one of the nicest houses I’ve seen. I’m not supposed to covet, but how is that possible when looking at images like these. Nice Grant! Well done Metropole.
Awesome photos Grant, you’re right: what a beautiful house, great architecture, always so pleasing to see!
Awesome, a truly breathtaking home!
Absolutely stunning designs from Metropole Architects and beautifully captured by Grant.
I just love the stairs as you look up to the moonlights!! What a wonderful way to showcase both of these exceptional talents that just work so well together.
Hats off to Metropole and Grant Pitcher!
Wow, thanks Lynn for your comment. Yes Metropole certainly had given me and amazing canvas with which to work.
